For another year, the Hong Kong Mid-Autumn Festival – Lantern Wonderland 2012, will be held in Hong Kong’s Victoria Park from 27 Sep to 2 Oct 2012.Lighting Consultant of the project, LEDARTIST, will help to implement the advanced lighting fixtures and control products, including Traxon’s Dot XL-6. The lights will again be programmed to interact with different musical pieces, composed specially for the celebration. This is the second consecutive year in which Traxon & e:cue was selected to provide the perfect solution to showcase the city’s festive appeal and vibrant culture.Inspiration
Inspired by the lantern motif of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the “Golden Moon” alludes to “joy” in its Chinese name. The finished structure will measure 18 meters in height and 21 metres in diameter, and will be installed atop a pool of water . The bright, warm glow emanating from the dome-shape structure relates to the passion between the Moon Goddess of Immortality Chang’e, and her husband Houyi. When night falls, LED lights will be switched on and flicker in rhythm with music.
